Necessary Numbers For Romance

Being romantic is wonderful. Preparing for a romantic endeavor creates butterflies in your stomach as you anticipate your partner’s ear-to-ear smile. When all of your time invested in preparing for your special moment comes to fruition seamlessly, it is a mixture of pure joy and satisfaction.
Like with most things in life, that special moment takes some work to create. As goes the adage, “Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.” To help you prepare properly, I want to share with you some numbers you should absolutely must have to prevent poor performance when it comes to being romantic.
Contact Numbers
It should go without saying that you should have all of your partner’s contact information. If you have a surprise planned that is time sensitive, but you can’t get a hold of your partner in time, your plan may not work out so well. Additionally, if your partner is a social butterfly(facebook, twitter, etc.), make sure you have that information as well. You never know when you might need to share something with their social friends.
Also have the contact information for your closest friends and family. Sometimes, a romantic endeavor calls for a little help from friends and family for execution. Not to mention, your partner’s best friend might be able to add a tip or idea to your romantic planning. Occasionally, someone else may be able to shed insight on a like or dislike of your partner that you were previously unaware of.
Also be sure to have contact numbers of places of interest such as a place for massages, spa treatments, florists, etc. If you are in a pinch and need to do something romantic, having these numbers on speed dial is a lifesaver. In the same vein, have your romance buddy‘s contact information handy. You never know when you need your romance buddy to give you a helping hand.
Clothing Sizes
Shopping for gifts is often a nice expression of love for your partner. This is handy especially when it is a surprise. Not only will your partner receive an item they can use, but they will be impressed with your ability to remember their sizes. Below are sizes you need to keep close because you never know when you see the perfect gift for your partner.
For women, make sure you know the following sizes:
bust size, waist size, hip size, dress size, pants size, height, and weight
Word of caution: Do not buy your partner’s shoes. My partner and I have different taste in footwear. Therefore, I don’t remember her shoe size because trying to buy her a pair of shoes is like asking for a beat down. (Seriously.)
For men, make sure you know the following sizes:
neck size, shoulder size, shirt sleeve length, shirt size, pants size, height, and weight
Knowing these sizes ahead of time will make it easier for you to shop for your partner. Since we change sizes as we get older, you will need to update these numbers on a semi-frequent basis. Once every 3 months should suffice for updating these numbers. The easiest way to find out this information is to do a little snooping. Do your best James Bond impersonation and spy your partner’s closet. You will be able to determine the size or range in size of your partner’s wardrobe.
Special Dates
These include your partner’s birthday, your anniversary, etc. These are THE MOST IMPORTANT SET OF NUMBERS YOU NEED TO REMEMBER.
I cannot place enough emphasis on this word of advice. Unless you want to sleep on the short couch (not the long one, that’s saved for small mistakes), remember your partner’s birthday and your anniversary. Short of finding someone whose birthday is on Christmas and committing to them on New Year’s Day, you have to remember these dates. Write them down if necessary, just don’t forget them.
For extra brownie points, remember the date of when you first met and when you first said those magical words. Remembering these dates will help earn you a “Stay Off The Short Couch Card.”
Hopefully, these numbers will help you on your quest to being romantic. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Did I miss some numbers? Looking forward to reading your thoughts. Until then, I have some snooping and writing to do.
Stay romantic.
